My first journey into this world was in 2017 when I supported a client at a shelter for immigrant women and kids. Through language barriers and cultural differences within an already complex medical system, we moved through her prenatal, birth, and postpartum experience together. I realized two things while processing what I witnessed and learned: support for pregnant people matters and I really, really wanted to do this again.
I had my own baby in 2020 and in talking to other parents, noticed that a common theme. Many people explained that interventions seem to happen to them rather than with their informed consent. In training with BADT, a black-owned, queer-run, and trauma-informed doula training organization, I understood that this narrative extends well beyond individual stories–it’s a matter of reproductive justice.
As a doula, I’m here to advocate for you and help you advocate for yourself. I’m here to listen, validate, educate, and guide you toward your intuition. I’m here ensure that you always have informed choice and to remind you of your strength when doubt starts to set in. I’m here to nurture you, breathe with you, and help you find a pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience that’s as joyful as possible.
I’m a full-spectrum doula which means I support all pregnancy outcomes for all people. It also means I believe in cultural humility, ongoing learning, and a fierce commitment to each individual’s reproductive autonomy.
Above all, my priority in working with clients is to be fully present. In a whirlwind of decisions, emotions, transitions, and changing plans, I want you to know and feel that I’m right there with you.
Originally from the East Coast, I currently live in Austin, TX with my family and serve clients in the area. When I’m not in the birth space, you might find me practicing yoga, going on nature walks, or digging for treasures at the Goodwill bins.
